Without the generosity of our supporters, Girlguiding’s 100,000 trained volunteer adult leaders would not be able to provide great opportunities and new experiences to our young members – over 400,000 girls and young women.
Girlguiding is divided into smaller areas for easier communication and administration and to support local guiding effectively. Girlguiding Cambridgeshire East county is one such area.
You can support Girlguiding in our county (and over 4,000 girls and young women) by volunteering, by making a one-off or regular donation, by leaving a legacy or a gift in memory of a loved one. Please contact the county cffice or the county commissioner for further information.
Girlguiding Cambridgeshire East is a registered charity (300716).
For girls as young as 5-years-old, the Jarman Centre offers a first experience of staying away from home for the night. It gives girls and adults in guiding the chance to try something new, get adventurous and build their confidence, all whilst making friends.
We have lots of ways in which you can support the development of our beautiful woodland estate, practically and financially.
By using the Jarman Centre you are helping to maintain it! The house downstairs fills up months in advance, but the loft can often be booked at short notice and is great for a one night sleepover for any age group. The 4 main campsites are suitable for small and large groups and ‘wild’ camping is available among the lime trees at the far end of the estate.
The 18-acre woodland estate offers a fantastic venue for outdoor activities with archery, orienteering, barbecues, campfires etc, and the Centre is increasingly popular with the local community for children’s woodland birthday parties.
There are volunteering opportunities through the monthly Lumberjack Days, held at weekends, and the Friends working days that are held twice a term during the week.
The fundraising section on our website gives ideas for raising funds and how to donate (by cheque or online through Localgiving.com).
