County leaders day – Learn and laugh

A day for leaders and young leaders with a mixture of training sessions and fun sessions.

Choose the sessions you want by filling in the booking form at www.trybooking.com/uk/GUIG and send your payment of £15 to Cambs East Guides

Formal training sessions
Are you a leader in training? Then the “effective communication” and “celebrating every member” trainings are just for you. Come along and complete that part of your LDP

Are you a young leader? There is a training session just for you

Are you a leader looking for help running your unit? Sign up for the “making the programme work for you” and/or “neurodiversity” training

Informal/fun sessions
We’ve also got sessions for those who want to have a go at something new (or do something you enjoy without having to supervise young people at the same time!).

• Go for gold on the archery range
• Learn the technique of canal art
• Have fun outdoors with fire lighting and backwoods cooking
• Put up a hammock
• Try whittling with wood or soap carving
• Make more noise than your Rainbows/Brownies/Guides/Rangers at the music session using hand chimes, boom whackers and ocarinas
• Become an expert at knots and gadget making
• Find out about and try orienteering and all the resources available in the Jarman Centre activity store

All day sessions
There are other activities available all day that you can dip in and out off – no need to sign up

• try out the various crafts kits that you can hire from the county
• see what goodies are on sale in the Jarman Centre shop
• explore the grounds of the Jarman Centre – maybe even do some fence painting or bramble clearing! You’ll need to bring appropriate clothes for this
• have a look and feel of the new uniform – see what is available from the Hautbois shop
• drink tea and coffee and chat to others – share experiences, frustrations and ideas
