Brownies from the 4th March and 2nd Doddington groups have just returned from a four day residential adventure holiday at The Jarman Centre near Newmarket, Girlguiding Cambridgeshire East’s Residential Centre.
The theme for the holiday was A.A. Milne’s Winnie the Pooh. Activities included a Winnie the Pooh wide game in the woods which involved the Brownies making a stretcher, finding a new key for Pooh bear, semaphore messaging to warn of heffalumps in the woods as well as tree identification. The Brownies all aged 7 – 10 years worked in small groups to help prepare meals and do other household jobs as well as enjoying time in the sensory garden, going on a night hike around the centre, fire lighting and other woodcraft skills.
Doddington Brownie Leader, Becki Fisher said “It was great seeing the girls have so much fun with their friends, learn new skills and work together as part of a team.”
