Manea Brownie Leader, Courtney Milner (aged 19) is celebrating this week having won the Pride of Fenland Young Citizen award. As well as being Brown Owl with 1st Manea Brownies, Courtney also has two jobs working with special needs clients in Fenland. There were eight finalists for the category of Young Citizen and Courtney impressed the judges with her dedication to the local community.
“I really enjoy Brownies, having been a Brownie myself, and I wanted to give something back. When the previous leader of Brownies in the village left I felt I wanted to step up to the mark and make a difference. I have been given the opportunity to gain qualifications and extend my knowledge. Only last month I organised a residential adventure for the group in the village hall. The girls had a wonderful time and tried out lots of new activities.” said Courtney.
