3rd Ely Guides enjoy a weekend at Lee Valley

20 Guides, four members of The Senior Section and four Leaders from 3rd Ely Guides spent a weekend at Lee Valley.

The group travelled by train from Ely, had a grocery delivery to the centre and enjoyed sleeping in the large and airy dormitories. They had exclusive hire of two lodges and self-catered during their stay.

They tried orienteering, disc golf (golf with Frisbees), did some indoor and outdoor nature challenges and had a walk & talk with a Park Ranger. The Ranger brought field glasses which the girls used to spot some water birds and wildlife. They saw coots, tufted ducks and herons; small deer and a fox. The members of The Senior Section members led the group in an evening sing song.

The Guides thoroughly enjoyed all the outdoor activity opportunities at Lee Valley and recommend it for a weekend or day trip.
