East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA) had some very young supporters come out and raise money on the 7 July! The 1st Little Thetford Rainbow Guides in Ely held an ice cream parlour event in aid of EAAA, selling a range of delicious ice creams with all profits being donated to the charity. In total they raised a fantastic £70 from a single evening of ice cream!
The meeting was great fun and a huge success. It was well attended by the Rainbow Guides who were very excited that Gary Spitzer a critical care paramedic with EAAA was able to attend. The EAAA merchandise and material was especially popular as it provided facts and figures about the charity. The helicopter stickers were by far the most eagerly anticipated! Gary was also keenly asked questions by the Rainbow Group about his work and what EAAA do for the people of East Anglia.
Gary has been working with the charity since 2011. He is originally from Hockwold-cum-Wilton, but now lives in Ely with his wife Rachel and three children. For Gary, working on the air ambulance “involves the most challenging types of patients”. Gary loves working for EAAA. “It’s wonderful being able to help people on the worst day of their lives and hopefully make things better. I also love working with such a dedicated team”.
