That’s the (Witchford) way to do it!

Witchford Brownies have recently returned from their Seaside holiday at the Jarman Centre, Girlguiding Cambridgeshire Easts residential centre near Newmarket. 18 Brownies and 3 Leaders along with a parent helper attended the action packed weekend. The highlight of the weekend for most was a Punch and Judy show. Chris Cullen, from Banana Brian Fun, enthralled the Brownies with his Punch and Judy show and explained the shows development from the Italian tale of Pulcinella. Following a break for some seaside candy floss the girls then watched a magic show in which one of the Brownies, Georgina, became the magicians assistant. During the fun packed weekend the girls all made their own Punch and Judy booths and puppets.

Abi, aged 8, said “The punch and Judy show was really funny.”

The group’s leader, Amy Dyson, said: “The residential event at The Jarman Centre was a great chance for the girls to get away and enjoy each other’s company in a safe, girl-only space.”

The Jarman Centre is available for bookings by guiding and non guiding groups for days and residential events.
