1st Swavesey Guides worked on the Guide First Aid badge last half term. A parent helper visited for give weeks to run the badge work, for which the girls and Leaders were very grateful.
She produced a booklet for the Guides to complete as they learned about each clause and she included lots of Q&A sessions and practical work. One week a First Responder also visited to teach the Guides CPR.
Alanna, one of the newest Guides, said “I thought it was really useful to learn the skills that could potentially save someone’s life” and Lara, another Guide, said “I didn’t realise that it was that difficult to bandage a large wound. Especially if the person keeps moving!”
