Residential adventure at PGL Caythorpe for 2nd Haddenham Brownies

15 girls from 2nd Haddenham Brownies had an amazing residential adventure weekend at the PGL Activity Centre near Grantham, Lincolnshire. The girls enjoyed a programme of activities that included climbing, archery, orienteering and survival skills.

Charlotte, aged 9 said “I especially enjoyed the team building Tunnel Trail” where the girls ventured, in pairs and groups, into the darkness through a maze of underground tunnels. This is a new addition to PGL’s facilities at the centre.

The Brownies all earned their Big Brownie Birthday Stay Away badges, in the year that Brownies celebrates its 100th birthday and the Haddenham unit celebrates its 25th birthday.

Brownie Leader, Amanda Buttress, said “Taking Brownies away on a residential adventure is amazing. It gives us the opportunity to watch our young members grow in confidence, especially where it is their first experience away from family for a residential adventure.”
