Members of Girlguiding Linton District, young and old, gathered at the Jarman Centre in Newmarket recently for their Annual Campfire.
The singing was led by a team of members of The Senior Section. They mixed traditional songs (Campfire’s Burning, Canadian Taps), with more modern songs (Bungalow, Fred the Moose) and action songs (An Austrian went Yodelling, Animal Fair).
Emily, a Guide said “the Penguin song was my favourite and the hot dogs were the best ever.”
Julie, a Brownie Leader said “Brinkley Senior Section did a fantastic job of leading the singing. It was great to see everyone, from Rainbows to Trefoil Guild, smiling and singing together. My Brownies loved being able to lead a song.”
Emma, a Rainbow Leader said “The campfire was really fun. I liked singing the songs with all the other Rainbows, Brownies and Guides.”
During the evening, Anna, a member of 2nd Linton Guides, was presented with her Baden-Powell Challenge Award by Jean Verney, County Commissioner.
