‘I’m a Survivor…guide me out of here!’* was the theme for the Jarman Centre’s Family Fun Day held on Bank Holiday Monday. The Jarman Centre Committee and Friends welcomed over 130 people to our county residential centre set in a woodland estate just outside Newmarket.
Highlights of the day included Black Box Forensics and Guide me out of here activities, where teams of two had to search a sealed-off area for the black box flight recorder whilst at the same time carefully noting debris scattered over the site; they then had to help each other out of the area, one blindfolded and the other wearing ear defenders. Other activities included archery, a minibeast hunt, wild woodland art, cooking on an open fire, ‘bushtucker’ trials and themed crafts for all ages.
Chair of The Jarman Centre, Sheila Betts, said “We are only able to put on the annual fun day with the help of our lovely volunteers – thank you all for another brilliant event!”
