Over 250 Guides along with their leaders pitched their tents and descended on Grafham Water last weekend for jam-packed weekend of adventure adrenalin and watersports!
Girls aged between 11 and 14 came together to make new friends and have a go at lots of water activities such as windsurfing, sailing, canoeing and raft building. On dry land, they had the chance to take part in climbing, archery, bush craft and try out a high ropes course. The whole group celebrated with a campfire for the Saturday evening and took part in some fun teamwork challenges.
One Guide from Cambridge, said: ‘I had such a fantastic weekend! I’ve never been to Grafham before but it was great to be able to try out new activities and have fun with all my friends. I can’t wait to come again next year!
Ellen Tack leader with 1st Toft Guides, who attended the event with a group of guides, said: “There was a fantastic atmosphere amongst the adults and girls and all had the chance to take part in some new and exciting challenges and adventures within a safe environment – that’s what guiding is all about! We were blessed with fantastic weather and the girls are already starting to plan their next adventure”.
