European adventures for Cambridgeshire East Leader

A Brownie and Senior Section Leader from Cambridge joined nearly twenty other volunteers from across Europe last week in Brussels for the first meeting of the WAGGGS Europe Working Groups.

Jess Bond, who is also Girlguiding Anglia’s volunteer Chair of Communications, has taken up a role in the Core Group for Mentoring. She will be working for the next three years with volunteers and staff to deliver support to other WAGGGS Member Organisations in the Region. Jess was one of three members from Girlguiding who attended the event.

She said: “It was a fantastic experience to join up with members from so many other Guiding and Scouting associations from across Europe and to learn about the plans for the next three years. I am really looking forward to working with them on mentoring projects to support other Girl Guiding and Girl Scouting associations to grow and develop to give more young people access to the brilliant opportunities that we offer!”
