Bronze Voyage Awards were presented to Tracey Baxter and Susan Southwell from Wisbech Trefoil Guild during a boat trip down the river Vitava, whilst on a Trefoil Guild holiday to Prague.
To gain the award, Tracey volunteered as treasurer for a Rainbow and Brownie unit for the Service section, joined a yoga class for the Myself section, fundraised for the British Heart Foundation for the Team Work section, learnt to crochet and made a pram blanket for the Skills section and visited New Zealand for the Explore my World section.
Susan used her role as an assistant Brownie Leader for the Service section, took up swimming for the Myself section, was part of a team that organized International residential experiences for Brownies at the Girlguiding Training and Activity Centres, used cross stich for her skill and enabled a group of Brownies to travel to France and Belgium for a Euro Hop adventure.
Both ladies were pleasantly surprised to receive their awards during the Trefoil Guild holiday to Prague. During the four day tour the group visited the city’s most famous sights including Prague Castle, St Vitus’s Cathedral, the Charles Bridge, the Old Town and the Astronomical Clock. The Easter Markets, located in the Old Town Square were full of decorated eggs, handicrafts and tasty street food and gave the opportunity for some retail therapy. The group also visited the Mala Strana quarter and St Nicholas’ church before taking the funicular railway to the top of Petrin Hill, Prague’s largest park. They had a chance to learn about the Scout and Guide movement in the Czech Republic as well as meeting members of the Scout and Guide fellowship.
